Ingredients
4 The Best Dressed Chicken drumsticks
4 The Best Dressed Chicken thighs, bone-in
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp cornstarch
4 egg whites
4 tbsp all-purpose seasoning
Pinch of salt
Oil
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 350°F.
- Clean the chicken and season with 2 tbsp of all-purpose seasoning.
- Mix the flour, cornstarch and remaining all-purpose seasoning in a large bowl.
- Whisk egg whites in another bowl.
- Dredge each piece of chicken by dipping it in the egg then in the flour mixture.
- Heat the oil to 350°F in a large deep pot.
- Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown, rotating using tongs to make sure each piece is evenly browned. Do this in batches so the pot is not overcrowded.
- Sprinkle each piece of chicken with salt as it comes out of the oil.
- Place the chicken on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper and bake until the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Serve with potato wedges and purple cabbage slaw.
